Adaptation

Starting a preschool adventure is an important life event for both a child and a parent. At Magic World Preschool, we make every effort to make this transition as smooth and comfortable as possible.

We implement an original adaptation program based on several stages.

ADAPTATION STEP BY STEP

Before starting the adaptation process, we invite our parents to workshops with a psychologist. Here, parents will find answers to questions such as:

What does the adaptation process look like?

How long does the adaptation process take?

What emotions accompany kids and parents alike?

How can parents help their child?

How do parental emotions affect a child?

Useful rituals and habits to make breakups easier.

At the beginning, we invite each child together with their parents to meet the tutors in the room of the given group. A small preschooler has the opportunity to look into all the cabinets, look at toys, meet teachers. This is a good time to establish the first relationship with the child and parents and to get accustomed to the space.

The early stage of adaptation is also the moment of "moving in" to a new space by leaving a pillow and a blanket in the cupboard and leaving the preschooler kit in the kindergarten cloakroom.

In the next stage, we invite all children from the new group to music and sensory classes together with their parents. It is the first opportunity for the kids to meet their friends.

After classes, teachers invite children to the room for refreshments and fun, while parents are encouraged to integrate together over coffee.

In the fourth stage, we invite children to breakfast and the first classes in the room without their parents.

We approach each child very individually at this stage. We recognize the needs of our children, such as support while parting with a parent, a hug in a moment of sadness, and we also keep parents informed about the child's well-being.

At the beginning, the day in kindergarten is short. The children stay with us for 2 hours. After a week, children stay longer, and the time is determined individually based on the child's well-being.

Adaptation is often accompanied by a lot of emotions on the part of the child and the parent, which is why the adaptation process takes place in our kindergarten with the support of a psychologist, with whom parents can arrange individual consultations in cases of questions or doubts.

This is the last stage of adaptation during which kids feel fully at ease and willingly stays in the kindergarten.

They are ready to discover the world, establish their first relationships with peers and participate in educational activities. At this stage, it is often more difficult to leave the kindergarten when it is time to go home.
